I draw these pattern in Illustrator and placed into Photoshop, and then post into blog.

Painting the Bird

Recently, I just started learned CG (Computer Graphics) that how to painting on photoshop.

This is my first project that painting the bird in Photoshop.


First Pic is that sketched from Illustrator and then I exported it to JPG then used the Photoshop to painting it.

Recently, I just created and designed my name card. I used Illustrator to design the bird and background pattern and then place them into InDesign to develop layout.

And I also helped my friend to design her name card.

This name card I just used Illustrator to did it. All the pattern was me draw them from Illustrator and display also in Illustrator.
 

Senior Project - Chinese Zodiac - Bookmark

Chinese Zodiac - Bookmark

The bookmark size is 2.5”X7”

I also made bookmark background flower pattern by illustrator and place into InDesign.

And I put the auspicious sentence on bookmark for each animal.

Senior Project - Chinese Zodiac - Small Brochure

I did the small brochure because most foreigners for maybe don’t know about the Chinese zodiac story, so I create this small brochure to make people know this story and also each animal has different personality meaning for them, also people can know them from this small brochure.

I made this small brochure, fold down by 5” X3”.

I created the flower patterns for front cover and backside of background.

I used the Illustrator to create them and place into InDesign.

 

My Senior Project - Chinese Zodiac - Package

This is my senior project of spring semester 2012.

In this class, every student choose big project to do it, and I choose to do Chinese Zodiac of package, small brochure, and bookmark.

My theme of senior project is Chinese Zodiac of 12 animals.

This is 12 animals of  Chinese Zodiac that are in different size.

I created 12 different size on each octangle box that from 4.5 through 10,

Each box the size of difference on 5 inches,(such as this is 4.5” and that one is 5”… like this….)The size of width is different on each one, but the height is the same size of 3.5”.

And why I chose octangle shape for gift box because in Chinese culture the octangle means satisfaction, such as gather together with family. (also means happiness and lucky)

And why I made 12 different sizes,

This idea that came from when I go to wal-mart or other supermarket, I always see some gift boxes have different sizes and they stack up each box.

I think this is a good idea because in my country I hard to see that the gift boxes is stack up, and I think I can combine Chinese culture and American life into my project, so I decided to create 12 different sizes of octangle gift box.

Ad Newspaper Final images

This is a fun project!!

Its so fun to do this project because we could draw something to make bitmap and use on InDeisgn!!
I like this part !!!
My target audience focus on who will go to buy bread in bakery store.
The call the action is Bread Loaf is on sale that buy on get one 50 % off until EXP -04-31-11!!

I also put some store information for customers.

After critique, I change something in my ad newspaper. I changes the bitmap image to mid and took off the line of coupon action and also change the fonts.

I printed proof in Campus of Printing Center, Proof just charge under $ .50 cents.

Final Project - Calender

This is my final project - Calender.

It made 7x5.75 and with bleed; and also base made 8x17.

Target: I focus everyone to show my project.

Cost of project: I make 2 so it spend $13.

Call the Action: promotion myself to show anyone my product such as company, and friends.

Purpose: I wanna use the calender to show everyone my ideas and my photography project.

Challenge: I think the challenge for me is when I communicate with  the printing center worker, they couldn't understand what i want, and I need to show them the example and tell them again and again. However, everything is good, because I early to print the first proof and see how's looks, and then just go back to check and edit again. Thanks for teacher help me, and thanks the printing center worker "Steven" helps. Finally, when I pick up my product, YES! it's my idea, but just one thing i need to go back change a little bit, that is the base paper I need to use more heavy than #100 pounds. I forgot to count calender paper (14page, use the #80 pounds paper), so the base paper hard to stand on table. Therefore, I cut the two heavy boards to sticker on each inside base paper. It works better!!
And one thing that i need to mention is if you wanna your product on the time to finish, you need to check them everyday and care how's going on your project. Because they are not good on time to give you product.

I like my project so much because I learned a lot from it. XD

This idea is from my friend, and also from that song "Call Me Maybe" ...... haha 

It's funny, isn't it??!! :D

My friend wants me to design three name cards and place him and his friends' photo on name card, and type.... CALL ME & phone number.
